The founder and former pastor of the Bethel Baptist Church in Orange, NJ, and a former disciplinarian and truant officer for East Orange High School, he saw traditional interventionist approaches to neighborhood poverty fail the community and decided to try a new approach.

Reverend White was inducted into New Jersey’s Aviation Hall of Fame at Teterboro for his leadership of the Eagle Squadron.
